STAGGERING TOTAL OF £1697.97 WAS RAISED AT THIS EVENT!
Many thanks must go to one
and all who took part, came along, donated and helped to make this a great
success. A great time was had by all. Huge
thanks must go to Mick Lewis of Whirlwind who entrusted the RH20s to organise
this event (except for the bands which Mick himself organised)
The bands were - Whirlwind, Sabrejets(from Ireland), Double Six(from Spain), the Torreadors(from Finland), Denvir Jet & The Shockwaves, Eddie Vortex & The Cyclones, Bo Walton, The Rockin' Bandits, The Wilsons,
plus DJ (and mc) John Houndog & DJ Dynamite Ady, who all waived their
performing fees.
Special thanks also to The Lazy Chef caterers, the stall holders, bar staff, the Drill Hall staff, the security staff, the helpers. Grateful thanks to you all!
Nigel Dixon was one
of the founder members, along with Mick Lewis, of Whirlwind. He
contracted skin cancer and after fighting the disease for several years sadly
he passed away on 4th April 1993 at the age of 36. More information
